As a constituent of Congressman Mike Conaway, your voice is the MOST critical for Texas animals! Rep. Conaway is the Chair of the House Agriculture Committee, and is convening his committee next week to review the proposed Farm Bill.

The Farm bill has two opportunities that would greatly affect animals, which is why we need your voice NOW.

The first, the "Pet Safety and Protection Act," would help dogs and cats being bred and sold into a lifetime of pain and suffering in needless lab experiments. The second, the misleadingly titled "Protect Interstate Commerce Act," could roll back many hard-fought protections for animals in our state laws, regarding puppy mills, horse slaughter, shark finning and more. 

TAKE ACTION: Please contact Rep. Conaway, identify yourself as his constituent, and ask him to:

1. Please SUPPORT the Pet Safety and Protection Act (H.R. 1141): This is a bill to end the abuse-ridden system of Class B dealers who sell “random source” dogs and cats to laboratories for experimentation.
2. Please OPPOSE the Protect Interstate Commerce Act (H.R. 3599/H.R. 4879): Also known as the "Steve King Amendment", this bill would restrict state authority to set standards for animal welfare and to protect the health and safety of Texans.
