Hurricane Preparedness Symposium

As we get closer to the 2018 hurricane season, the board of directors of FBPA! sees the need to bring information about pet preparedness to our pet loving citizens in Fort Bend County. We would use this opportunity to help get the word out to families about what must be done to protect their families and family pets in case of another emergency or hurricane. Fort Bend County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) will be the key presenter of the symposium. They will give recommendations for emergency preparedness for the 2018 hurricane season for families with pets and service animals, with topics covering family/pet evacuation, food and water safety, shelter for families with pets, sanitation, transportation for pets, and medical aid. Salise Shuttlesworth, Exe. Director of Friends For Life, a LEED certified No Kill shelter in Houston will give an account of how they went above and beyond, set standard for disaster response for pets during Hurricane Harvey.
