  • Hello I try to help a pug that I drive by daily on my way home. I have Granbury animal shelter do welfare checks on pug for years now. I emailed Shelby years ago on pug and she was so helpful. Pug was on a chain. I dropped off brochures Spanish/English from dogs deserve better org. Yay Thln got no chaining passed. Family tethered him with harness then. Now he is in crate with small dig house inside. Not room to exercise or bathroom. Animal control did welfare check. I read laws and see they meet the law. It is hard to see this pug so filthy now and not let out much to exercise or bathroom. I now hope laws can be made that dogs in pens have to be able to walk for exercise and get out of their waste( possibly dog run if no fence built) Thank you I always donate and read your great work you do! Impressive back grounds on all of your staff.

IMPORTANT: IF YOU ARE TRYING TO REPORT A NEGLECT OR ABUSE SITUATION, CONTACT YOUR LOCAL HUMANE SOCIETY, LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY, OR LOCAL ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER - DO NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE FOR A THLN MEMBER AS WE ARE A LEGISLATIVE ORGANIZATION, NOT AN ENFORCEMENT AGENCY.

THLN's purpose is to pass effective legislation for the animals in the Texas Legislature.  We do not have the resources to deal directly with animal cruelty or adoption issues, but we can recommend several organizations that do.
