Where: Van Zandt County Sarah Norman Library (Buchanan Room)
317 First Monday Ln. Canton, TX 75103 (HWY 859 near HWY 64)

Please join Van Zandt County Pet Project (VZCPP), Texas Humane Legislation Network (THLN), and SPCA of Texas, Inc. for a FREE informative lunch program on overpopulation and ways to overcome this in East Texas.

The event will be led by Shelby Bobosky, Executive Director of the Texas Humane Legislation Network, Courtney Burns, CAWA - Chief Investigator, Director of Animal Field Response - SPCA of Texas, and Kathy Stonaker, THLN Ambassador and Founder of Van Zandt County Pet Project.

We will cover the laws passed during the 88th Texas Legislature, including laws that related to dog and cat breeders, Trap-Neuter-Return, fake service dogs, and a focus on animal cruelty. There will also be a discussion on how local ordinances were affected by regulations selling pet store puppies, breeder permits, and functioning agricultural operations in city limits. The meeting includes a Q&A at the end to ask questions on animal laws and ordinances in general and how to support common sense animal welfare legislation!

Lunch is provided, but space is limited; RSVP by January 15th.

If you RSVP and can't attend, please change your RSVP so another person from the waitlist can attend.
