THLN Supporters-
We have HUGE news: SB 295, our bill to require adequate shelter for dogs and ban the use of chains, passed the Senate yesterday 27-3! Such a strong and bipartisan show of support from the Senate gives SB 295 strong momentum as it goes to the House.
The nay votes were Senators Hughes, Hall and Creighton. (The journal is showing Sen. Kolkhorst as a nay but she is assuring us that was a mistake and is working to correct the record.)
What next?! As introduced, SB 295 and HB 940 are identical companion bills, and now they are both in the House! All State Representatives need to hear from you so please send another emailtoday to your Representative so we can build on the momentum of the Senate’s passage with a strong show of support.
Just 45 more days before the legislative session ends! Because the legislature only meets every two years, if these bills don’t pass, Texas dogs will have to endure two more scorching hot summers and two more freezing cold winters before we can try again. LET'S GET TEXAS DOGS SHELTER NOW!
Remember, as these bills move through the Texas House of Representatives, any Texas resident can make a difference by stating their support! Our easy-to-use email form finds your Representative and sends the message for you: www.thln.org/house
Thank you for being a powerful voice for Texas dogs!
