El Paso Animal Lobby Day
Host: Participating Organizations of the El Paso The Animal Collaborative
The Texas Humane Legislation Network and El Paso Animal Collaborative cordially invites you to El Paso's inaugural Animal Lobby Day! Come learn what animal protection issues are at stake in the 2019 session and how you can get political for animals.
THLN endorsed legislator, Rep. Joe Moody, the first El Paso legislator to achieve Speaker pro tem, will be in attendance to share his insight on how citizen advocates like you can best coalesce your voices for the animals.
Laura Donahue Halloran will also be on hand to discuss THLN's priority legislation and how you can help make change in Austin! From critical protections for tied-out dogs, banning the predatory practice of "pet leasing", enabling the adoption of retired research animals, to allowing good Samaritans to free dogs in hot cars --exciting legislation has already been filed to advance the humane treatment of animals this session.
THLN will be prioritizing bills to fix our broken statute regulating dog shelter and restraint and crack down on predatory practices at pet stores. Laura will break down the critical elements of these bills and explain how you can help us spread the word.
This event is open to the public, but we do ask that you RSVP so we can ensure seats for all.
