10.6.12 - 2012 THLN Annual Conference Update

THLN has done it AGAIN!
Our 4th annual conference held in Austin on September 28-29 was an overwhelming success! Thanks to our wonderfully generous sponsors, our super Conference Committee, and our always amazing attendees! Kudos for all the positive comments received from attendees - who agreed with us - this was our best to date! Special thanks goes to our amazing speakers who addressed everything from THLN's 2013 legislative agenda to learning effective social media trends for all animal welfare groups! Our special legislative guest speaker - Representative Eddie Lucio - delivered very helpful tips for effective grassroots lobbying and "making a difference" with our issues with legislators.
We capped off the conference Saturday evening - with a moving key note address by Ledy VanKavage , the national manager of Best Friends Animal Society - who urged each of us to continue our valuable work with the passage of animal protection laws. Especially in this time when so many animal abuse special interest groups are fighting our efforts.
Hopefully everyone left this conference having learned a wealth of new information for helping animals through politics! Remember - the most important action you can take to help animals is to educate your elected officials and vote to reflect supportive views!
